Glycerin is an increasingly popular viscous compound derived from palm oil. Glycerin has high demand beckoning across industries from cosmetics to food, even medical. Demand for a highly refined moisturizing agent in the skin care industry is well matched by the sustainable and gentle glycerin. As a humectant, glycerin attracts moisture from the air and locks it into the coat. This humectant property, along with the particle size of our silk, make a sensational duo and powerful transport for nourishment at the particle level in our Strength and Shine spray.

I almost feel like this ingredient only requires one word: Duh! Aloe Vera gel is truly renowned and unbeatable when it comes to its properties of relief. Aloe gel is a clear, gentle,  and cooling gel traditionally used for minor skin issues such as sunburn or irritation. As an emollient, Aloe Vera gel will absorb into the coat quickly to supple and soften. Packed with antioxidants such as Vitamins C, E, and A, aloe gel helps to create a healthy, hydrated, and shiny coat for the horse.

The super ingredient in our Strength and Shine formula comprises 18 amino acids, making it a powerful hair cortex-repair therapy. Well balanced with the oils, it is the quintessence kernel for creating exciting restorative results and hair growth!

This particular silk version is special for its particle size. Unique from its silk equivalents, the chemical composition of the Silk Amino Acid is very similar to hair and skin, making it the perfect transport for nourishment. The particle size penetrates the hair lipid barrier and the hair cortex to deliver strength and rehabilitation.

When the silk dries after the formula has been absorbed into the coat, its structure forms a protective crystalline film around the hair strands. It creates an attractive, elastic sheen, meaning: hello, radiant, beautiful coat and lovely flowing mane. Silk amino acids is the featured ingredient in Strength and Shine and will cause hair growth and glow glamour!

Guar gum is a cosmetics do-it-all. Made from the guar bean, it is a naturally derived texture enhancer, a stabilizing agent for formulas, and a shelf life extender. Used in small quantities, guar gum can transform the consistency of a formula, making an extra soft, unbelievably plush texture. Adding this link piece boosts the effects of the sweet oil base, relating the water, the oils, and the other ingredients in the formula together into a dreamy, cushiony soft, ultra-hydrating compound. 

Macadamia Carrier Oil is in a category of its own for its sweeping fatty-moisturizing and barrier-replenishing properties. Macadamia carrier oil contains monounsaturated fatty acids, omega 3s, and omega 6s. Linoleic acid,  only one of the fatty acids, helps to restore the moisture barrier and prevent transepidermal water loss; moisture lock!

To ensure the maximum benefits and a quick absorption rate, RH sources a virgin macadamia carrier oil; keeping the formula lightweight. Virgin macadamia nut carrier oil easily adds featherlight moisture, softness, and radiance to the coat. 

Hibiscus seed oil is a sublime, powerhouse ingredient. Derived from the flower hibiscus sabdariffa, or, the roselle, this luxuriously rich oil is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and amino acids. Antioxidants like flavonoids, carotenoids, and tannins create a protective shield against harsher compounds in the environment to preserve the color of hair. This sweet-scented oil is known to brighten and enrich the colors and vibrancy of hair.

Hibiscus oil improves the strength and elasticity of hair by stimulating keratin production, adding protection and support for healthy hair growth! 

Finally, and my personal favorite touch, are the natural alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) in the oil, which work to gently loosen and release debris from the outer dust layers of the coat and surface levels of the skin.

Sweet almond oil is a carrier oil added to our Strength and Shine formula. Sweet almond oil is a nutty, rich, and sweet oil with an impressive entourage of health-promoting and anti-inflammatory properties. The oil contains vitamins E, A, and B7 (biotin), fatty acids like oleic and linoleic acid, and mineral zinc. The oil is a handsome option for skin protection, hydration barrier control, and inflammation reduction. 

Citric Acid is used in a wide range of industries and types of products. Citric Acid, in a similar fashion to Guar Gum and Glycerin, has many industry standard and practical uses. Citric Acid exists and is derived, naturally, by fermenting sugar. In a formula, Citric Acid adjusts pH. It also acts as a chelating agent, antioxidant, preservative, and stabilizer. Being in the family of the alpha hydroxy acids, Citric Acid, especially in higher concentrations, can act as an exfoliant. To not ironically go over-the-top as a cosmetic ingredient, Citric Acid is a gentle astringent, adding to a formula soft cleansing properties of hair and skin on top of its ion sequestering. Don't bat your eyes at this industry super ingredient! The celebrity status on this one is certainly earned.

Eucalyptus is a sharp, bright, and invigorating oil that is deodorizing and clarifying to the hair. Peppermint essential oil has a crisp, bright, and vitalizing smell. It is efficient as a clarifier and in aiding the effect to repel bugs. Sweet Orange oil and Lemon oil both have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, cleansing and clarifying every time they are used. Moreover, their crisp citrus effects reputedly contribute to bug repelling. Bitter Almond (Cherry) Oil is a sweet, pleasant, and cherry-like scented oil added to our innovative Strength and Shine to make the product unique, luxurious, and unforgettable.
