Lovey Horse

From barn house broke to thoughtful athlete, Lovey has been a pleasantly surprising outcome and the most fulfilling set of challenges. She had not been doing any work for a considerable time when I started her and she had no higher formal training of any kind. Having a health first training program, many of our first days together were spent working through intestinal discomforts, improper movement, issues managing energy, and a general obstruction to physical activity; No concept of a lunge line, no trot, and no gait differentiation.

Thrilled that our training continues today, her natural curiosity and determination has expanded her repertoire into gymnastics, jumping, endurance, and dressage. Her energy levels improve daily and her muscular developments are significant. Her training has amounted to many achievements including: cross rail jumps, a fierce lunge, all gaits, and an impressive improvement in the discipline of dressage.

Lovey is a great example of what the RH training is capable of and a daring love letter to what she is capable of.

Picasso

I worked with Picasso a short time, only two weeks, and most of it was grooming and in-hand work. Our most significant focus was his balance. He struggled performing any yield and was clumsy in his everyday ability; walking side by side with him was staggered and somewhat disorganized (in a cute way). Even with the little work together, he began to stand upright, walk straight, and moving off yields properly. His appaloosaness was my favorite thing about him.

Noticing a horse's temperament (as a breed and as an individual), adjusting a horse's stance with an understanding of their anatomy, and aligning their walking patterns are some of the first things that I focus on when I start a new horse. I am quick to first understand where the horse is at with their movement health, and make changes to their physio-structures of movement and balance, or in a more healthy, energetic case, break the horse in. Horses develop on their own using how I train them in practice. Quickly with Picasso, and over time, when accompanied with ongoing training, produces beautiful, reflexed athletes. My horses get sculpted physically and athletically. My time with Picasso was short but his unbridled optimism was a billion inspiration.

Happy Cowgirl

Happy Cowgirl is a 21 year old thoroughbred mare. Her years working as a show jumper are extensive and impressive. When I began working with her, the immediate concerns to address were not to performance and skill but her muscle atrophy, degenerative joints, her brittle thoroughbred hooves, and her bad exercise habits she'd developed. Over the course of eight months, Happy went from old raggedy, worn out and shaggy, to shining star, athlete style! In 2024, she was featured in many photographs which unveiled a horse having a gorgeous physique and an otherworldly shiny coat; in an uncommon peak for her sports season and ridiculously ripped. She was the first example for myself of what I was capable of with a horse and science as my tools.
